Dropship Medical Equipment
Dropship Advantages
For many patients and families, the task of fulfilling your ongoing medical equipment and supply needs can be burdensome. Consider what’s involved –
TIME
1. Driving to and from the stores versus logging onto your
computer.
2. Walking up and down the aisles trying to find the right products
versus creating a standard order that can be processed by the click of a
button.
3. Standing in the checkout line
4. Personally delivering the items to your loved ones – especially if
they don’t live with you.
COST
1. Most retail stores have a large overhead, so their
prices are higher. Companies that offer online purchasing have lower
overhead and can charge lower prices.
2. Gas prices continue to rise. How far do you have to travel daily,
weekly, monthly to obtain supplies? How much is the gas costing you?
3. We may go to the store for medical supplies, but always wind up
buying more than intended. When factoring these additional purchases,
the medical supplies cost more than you think.
EMOTIONAL ENERGY
1. For family members, purchasing medical supplies is just
one of many caregiving responsibilities. The goal is to alleviate
caregiver stress and burden by offering more efficient service options.
2. Buying Incontinence items (among other products) in a store can be
embarrassing for the patient and/or family member. Medical conditions or
problems are supposed to be confidential, not for the whole world to
see. Through a dropship program, items are sent in discreet boxes right
to your front door. So, the whole neighborhood and everyone in the store
can’t see what is being purchased.
QUALITY OF CARE
1. Most grocery stores, warehouses, and retailers are not
medical equipment and supply specialists. They carry a few basic items
and know very little about the brand quality. They are cost focused, not
patient focused.
2. Consider what products are important for proper incontinence care –
briefs, liners, pads, wipes, barrier creams, odor eliminators,
underpads, no rinse bath products, and more. Most carry briefs, liners
and pads but the not the complementary products. Proper incontinence
care requires much more than just a collection device (brief, liner,
pad). Patients and families need to be concerned about proper skin care
to prevent skin ulcers and Urinary Tract Infections. This is where the
other products come in handy and can always be found through a dedicated
medical supply organization.
Please note that not all durable medical equipment is appropriate for dropship. Items like hospital beds and wheelchairs generally require delivery for set-up, patient instruction and ongoing equipment maintenance.
